Are Books Being Destroyed? The Truth Behind My Handmade Creations
Behind My Handmade Creations
There’s a question I get asked more often than you might think…
“Doesn’t it feel strange turning a book into art?”
And honestly — I completely understand why people ask 💛
Books hold stories, memories and meaning. They’re something we connect with, keep, and sometimes treasure for years. So the idea of transforming one into something else can feel a little unusual at first.
I’ve even been jokingly called a “book destroyer” or “book killer” on social media…
But for me, it’s never about destroying a book.
It’s about giving that story a new life.
Each piece I create is made to order, carefully crafted to turn something special into a keepsake you can see and enjoy every day — not something that sits quietly on a shelf.
How the books are chosen

Most of the books I use are second-hand and already well-loved.
I keep a collection of titles in my studio — from favourites like Twilight, The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones — all carefully sourced second-hand and repurposed ready to be transformed into something new.
If a customer requests a specific book, I’ll always try to find a pre-loved copy first, so it can be given a new life rather than buying brand new where possible.
Every piece is created with that in mind — not wasting a story, but reimagining it into something beautiful to keep and display.
From story to keepsake

A favourite book becomes something you can see every day.
A memory becomes something you can hold.
A moment becomes part of your home.
Many customers choose something deeply personal — a book they love, a place they’ve been, or words that mean something special to them.
And that’s the heart of what I do.
Not replacing the story…
but transforming it into something lasting.
From something read…
to something remembered ✨
