137 Pumpkins in 3 Days: How We Made Mamas & Papas' Halloween Order
Sometimes the best stories start with an email you weren't expecting.
On Monday, we got a message from Mamas & Papas — yes, that Mamas & Papas — saying they'd ordered our Set of 3 Pumpkin Book Gift they had loved them so much, they wanted 70 more for their Halloween window displays in their UK stores.
Every pumpkin we make is handmade to order, by hand, from real book pages — no stockroom shortcuts, no mass production, just a lot of careful cutting and shaping. So when they asked if we could have 70 ready by Thursday, my husband gave me the look that said "are you actually kidding me right now?" I said yes anyway.
Then Tuesday happened.
Another email arrived: turns out they didn't want 70 pumpkins anymore. They wanted 137. Still by Thursday.
We didn't sleep much for the next 48 hours. Every surface in the house turned orange. But on Thursday, all 137 handmade pumpkins were boxed up and delivered, exactly as promised, ready for Mamas & Papas' Halloween displays in stores across the UK.
